Behind Florence's Pritti Palace sits The Boboli Gardens, an outdoor sculpture museum. Designed for the Medici grand dukes in the 16th century, this is one of the earliest examples of the Italian Garden style that later inspired the green spaces of many European courts. Choose one of the garden's many trails and discover grottoes, fountains, and statues. The sculptures date from the 16th to the 18th century, with some Roman antiquities. Walk to the top of the hill at the back of the garden for views of Florence. Guided tours are available. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Florence and want a good view! Entrance fee was €10 per person and the place is full of beautiful statues and well cultivated grounds. If you make it up to the top of the hill you’ll be rewarded with some fine panoramic views of the city and beyond. I would add that the grounds were rather dry in the July sun and the advertised cafe was under renovation, so be prepared to bring plenty of water and take your time if you want to explore it all.

Visited in September during the rain and it was lovely because there were no crowds! 10€ per person. Bring lots of water because there’s elevation and stair areas to explore on the grounds. Pro tip is to have a nice picnic and enjoy the views around you while wandering through the tall hedges. Also, at the very top is a wonderful secluded garden. You’ll have the opportunity to take panoramic photos. (When I visited this garden in 2015, the grass was much greener and taken care of. The flowers blooming were at the very top. There are plentiful fruit trees and lots of greenery with the hedges.)
