Discover Bali's royal history at Taman Tirtagangga, a water palace featuring a network of fountains and pools surrounded by well-manicured gardens. Though it looks ancient, the palace complex actually dates back to the 1940s. Carefully restored after a nearby volcano erupted in 1963, the grounds boast an impressive eleven-tiered fountain that forms the centerpiece of the surrounding sculpture gardens. Make a brief visit to photograph these highlights and relax amid the verdant scenery, or plan a longer tour of the terraced countryside to see fertile rice paddies and a number of old temples. • Tirta Gangga is a nice water palace located in Karang Asem area. It is not too big but has nice sceneries and views, worth a visit, and not too far away from Lempuyang Heaven of Gates.

  • Love this place! This is the place where I visited since my child hood. It is beautiful, calm and relaxing. Not too crowded the last time we visited. Good spot to take a picture. You can feed the fish and enjoy the view.
  • Tirta Gangga lies somewhat inconspicuously in a curve. With a small entrance fee, it's off to a magical place. Small ponds are laid out on a total of eleven terraces. Huge koi carp swim in the lower ponds, and small shops sell fish feed. This place is perfect for really impressive snapshots.
