A significant temple to the Balinese people and a culturally historical artifact, Lempuyang Temple rewards the hiker not only with an authentic glimpse into the prayer life of the Balinese people, but also picturesque views over the surrounding vista. Suitable for those of moderate to good levels of fitness and walking ability, the site requires visitors to climb 1,700 steps to the summit. Along the way, you will come across ornate Buddhist carvings and architecture. Before you begin, be sure to find a sarong to wear, or ask a guide where to find one, because entry to the temple is not permitted without one. Best place for photos! Although do note that there is a long queue for the photos most of the time. We had waited around 45 mins for the photo shoot. However you are free to walk around the area.

Nice place but you notice that the population there lives from tourism. For example, little to no respect is shown to the culture (food and drink in the temple) and nothing is said about it. Also, don't fall into the trap of the Instagram photos. They edit your photo on the spot to make it look like there's a volcano in the background or a reflection of water on your photo. So this is not real! Too bad because it is a nice place but I would rather do it if it is near you.

I arrived very early morning. Drove my motorbike and parked right next to the entrance. Only paid 100k entrance fee. Was not asked to use any bus shuttle and paid no fee for a photo. Beautiful temple and views. All the staff were so friendly. Recommend to go to Lahangan Sweet located close by for amazing views of the hills and ocean.
