Nepali Temple (Kathwala Temple)
Admire vermillion colored walls lined with dark and elaborately carved planks at Nepali Temple (Kathwala Temple), a Nepalese-style Hindu shrine built on a Ganges ghat by the King of Nepal. Termite-resistant wood and carvers were brought from Nepal in 1843 to construct this compact structure featuring exquisite woodwork and pagoda-style architecture. Surrounded by tamarind and peepal trees, the temple houses a Shiva lingam and offers a sweeping view of Varanasi and the sacred river. Made of baked bricks, stone and wood, this temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a replica of Kathmandu’s Pashupatinath Temple. Our Varanasi travel route planner makes visiting Nepali Temple (Kathwala Temple) and other Varanasi attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

This is a beautiful temple on the ghats of Varanasi. The architecture is similar to the temple in Kathmandu. There are a lot of monkeys.

It is a beautiful wooden temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It resembles the Pashupatinath Temple of Nepal in its infrastructure. It is located on the top floor just beside the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple from the side of Gate no. 1, on the Lalita Ghat. It has the spectacular view of the Ganga. One can sit on the wooden bench in the premises of the temple and enjoy looking at the Ganga among the strong winds that flows from the Ganga. It is a true example of scenic beauty

Very old and wooden temple built by some Nepali King. The temple is a replica of the Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu. Its very calm & peaceful out there at the temple courtyard. There is a Peepal tree over there. You can sit there on the wooden benches beneath the peepal tree and enjoy the cool breezes. Its very soothing. You could have a great view of the entire ghats from the top.
