Established in 1910, the museum houses the findings and excavations at the Sarnath archeological site. Five galleries and two verandahs feature nearly 7,000 sculptures and artifacts with a particularly good collection of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas images. In addition to the 2,260 years old sandstone pillar, you can admire a seated 5th century seated Buddha, cross-legged with a halo, or a life-size image of a standing Bodhisattva with a lotus. Awesome historical place..you more about Ashoka and many other historical point... peaceful, clean & greenery place. Entry price ₹25 for Indian. Buying tickets is available only on online mode. You have to scan QR code and enter 1 National I'd then pay for purchasing tickets.

*Sarnath is a good place to visit. Have seen and read many old artifacts in history books, which will be seen here. *The ticket price is Rs 30 which includes museum and park fare. You can book the tickets via Paytm (Scan QR code at the entrance gate) *It closes early by 5.30 so plan a day for the first half. *It is just 10-12 Km away from Varanasi, but due to congested roads and choked traffic journey time is more than 45 mins *Mobile phones are not allowed inside the Museum premises, but you can carry a digital camera.
