Colorful blooms and lush greenery come alive at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. Commissioned on the orders of the former ruler of Mysore, a local kingdom, the gardens trace their origins to the second half of the 18th century. You can explore the extensive grounds that stretch for more than 97 hectares (240 acres), admiring centuries-old species of trees and a number of collections exhibiting different floral varieties. Join a guided tour to learn more about the origins of the complex and the plants themselves. This is one of the best places for outing with friends or families in Bangalore The location is very accessible. It has a metro station nearby and a very good connectivity with local bus. The area of the garden is around 230 Acres. You would need around three to five hours to visit. It has a wide variety of flowers and plants and the atmosphere here is very delightful. The place is very clean and it has a lake and an artificial waterfall inside. There are many good food stalls as well.
