Chateau Zegaani - is an estate, built in 1820, by the great political and cultural figure of the XIX century and the founder of Georgian viticulture and winemaking – Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. It is located at the main winemaking zone of Georgia- Kakheti region and represents an important historical, architectural and historiographical value in respect of studying development of winemaking in this area. Chateau Zegaani is also considered to be an evidence of influence of France on Georgian winemaking. The Estate was built by Alexander Chavchavadze on his return from France, in the image and likeness of French wine chateau of early XIX century.
