Domaine National de Saint-Cloud
Domaine National de Saint-Cloud offers 460 hectares of gardens, park, and woodland, and it represents one of the best examples of a classical garden. This venue was once a privilege of Philippe d’Orléans, the younger brother of Louis XIV, but no longer boasts a château, which was destroyed in a fire in 1870. However, you can still stroll about the grounds that burst at the seams with inspiring natural fixtures.
Designed by Le Nôtre, Domaine National de Saint-Cloud is also one of the most attractive parks to be found in the outer Paris area and has been dubbed with the "Outstanding Garden" label. Although an oasis of calm amidst the busy city, the park also holds a number of cafés and restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat and rest your feet. A bit hidden if you walk from the train station but once you enter you will be wowed by how big the park is. Very impressive size and design. Go to the high point and see Paris from there! There used to be a chateau but was destroyed during the Franco-Prussian War.

Before I came I looked up the schedule for the water fountains and even though they said they should be on they were not and I was very disappointed. Regardless of the fountains not working this is still a very beautiful park and I am still glad we came and enjoyed a nice afternoon walking around. Often considered as one of the most beautiful gardens of the Île de France region. It commands stunning views over the city of Paris, from the skyscrapers of La Défense to Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower and Montparnasse Tower. Its official name if Domaine National de Saint-Cloud and is owned by the French state. The park covers an area of 460 hectares, making it one of the largest in the Île de France region.
