Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte
Constructed entirely on a platform surrounded by a moat, Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte can be reached by one of two bridges. The Baroque architecture and estate plan here marked the beginning of the Louis XIV style, combining architecture, interior design, and landscape design. The garden's pronounced visual axis is an example of this style. Inside, you'll find Monsieur and Madame Nicolas Fouquet's apartments, furnished to depict their 17th-century aristocratic lifestyles and decorated with their favorite artworks. From the ground floor, you can see the garden and countryside. Children's activities, guided tours, and audio tours in English are available at the ticket booth. Just past the booth, you'll find the Horse and Carriage Museum, with large stables and ornate antique carriages. Beautiful and well maintained chateau. The building architecture really amazing. This chateau inspired King Louis XIV built Versailles. Have been here very long time ago.

Visited for the Candlelit evenings and fireworks, was absolutely beautiful. Important to note that the time selected during purchase of tickets is the time to enter the main Chateau building. We did not realize and had to wait till 22h00 to enter the main Chateau for the tour, despite initially buying tickets for 19h30.
