St. Sebastian, Trogir

The votary church of Saint Sebastian was built In 1477 by Nicholas of Florence for the protection of the city against the plague epidemic. The Florentine master knowingly used the relatively small space incorporating into the same corpus both the space of the church and the tower with the city clock. On the façade over its entrance gate the church has a statues of St. Sebastian and over him a figure of Christ giving blessing. Above, the city clock is located on the tower while on the very top of the copula of the tower is a bell chiming away the hours.

go up in a narrow, claustrophobic, spiral, staircase to the top of the bell tower. A great panoramic view to old town will be opened for you. It is highly recommended although the way upstairs is not pleasant.
