At Church of St. Euphemia see the painted sarcophagus and relics of St. Euphemia, the patron saint of the town. The Baroque church was built in 1736 over the remains of an older church dedicated to St. George. The statue of St. Euphemia, which serves as a weather vane, greets you from the 60 m (197ft) high bell tower. Enter the church, go to the right and find the altar of St. Euphemia. Look behind it to see the sarcophagus painted with scenes of the martyrdom of the saint. Climb the bell tower, which resembles the tower of St Mark's Basilica in Venice. On a clear day you can see the Alps. Put Church of St. Euphemia and other Rovinj attractions into our Rovinj trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Must see if in Rovinj, it is their patron and it is really nice church, I would also recommend going on a mass.

  • Nice church on the top of the hill. What I found amazing is if you ask you can climb the bell tower until the top. Climbing there is just an adventure, the “steps” are made of wood, not all are the same size and you will se that everything is super old which for me was like magical thinking how the people climbed over there. The view of you manage to reach the top is breath taking. Price is not high Just for information the staff told me there are over 300 hundred steps but I counted around 180 so is not so difficult.
  • Lovely church with the most magnificent views of Rovinj sea… the church inside is peaceful with a lovely religious atmosphere. It has a magnificent tower bell. The grounds of the church are just adorable. You need some comfortable shoes to claim to the top of Rovinj Town.
