Create an itinerary including Korcula Island
Walk through the green fields and along the vineyards and olive groves of Korcula Island. The Greeks named this island "black Corfu" because of the dense wooded areas. See Greek artifacts, including carved marble tombstones, at the town Korcula museum. Visit the folk museum in the village Blato and note how little life on the island has changed over the centuries. Explore the small beaches, quiet coves, and many caves. To take in the local culture, enjoy some traditional dishes and wines, watch a sword dance, and listen to Klapa--a form of a cappella singing. Put Korcula Island on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Brna holiday planner.

  • Beautiful place, with a thousand little bays and beaches. While the city of Korcula can get crowded at times (this is where the cruiseships go...) the rest of the island is more quiet and peaceful. You can get here by ferry from Split.
  • Beautiful island just off the Croatian coast with good ferry access from Split and Dubrovnik. Old Town in Korcula port has steep cobbled streets, pretty shops/bars and restaurants. Vela Luka at the other end of the island is more modern. Vineyards and wooded hills in the centre of the island, pebbled coves, small harbours by the sea.
