  • The church is closed for renovations which meant it was a much smaller area to visit. We approached the ticket sales area and were sorting out the correct money when the lady selling tickets barked.....  more

  • The Gothic style monastery church was built between 1301 and 1315. Built after the 1667 earthquake, Romanesque parts have been preserved but the mixture of Gothic and Renaissance styles dominates.
  • This monastery is located in the northeastern side of the Old Town and is almost adjacent to the Fortress Wall. It was built in the 14th century almost simultaneously with the Fortress Wall. The high bell tower was completed in the 18th century. This monastery is famous primarily for its unique collection of paintings. The main exhibit of the museum is a painting by Titian. The monastery complex combines many architectural styles from different eras, from the Gothic to the Renaissance. It fits very harmoniously into the ancient defensive structures of the city. Inside the monastery there is a beautiful courtyard and a museum that you can visit.
