Create an itinerary including Wreck of the Matai
Teeming with colorful fish and other sea creatures, Wreck of the Matai offers swimmers and divers plenty to see and explore. The final resting place of SS Matai, a vessel that carried Model T cars when it sank here in 1916, the shipwreck now appears entirely integrated into the seascape. While you can view the wrecked ship from the coast, several options allow you to get up close and see the site from the water. Head out with a diving or submarine tour, or just swim out with snorkeling gear and reef shoes. • I really liked this snorkel adventure with the family. The swim was easy and we were able to see a lot of cool things and I loved the shipwreck.
