Explore the fragile remains of Baphuon Temple, a three-tiered "temple mountain" of the once great Khmer Empire. The 11th-century structure represented Mt. Meru, home of the Hindu gods; for centuries it remained in disrepair until French-led archaeologists initiated a painstaking restoration, completed in 2011. Today, you can roam around five levels of the temple, which once housed libraries, sandstone galleries, many Buddha images, and a central sanctuary. Once you reach the summit via steep timber steps, you can enjoy the picturesque panoramic view of the entire complex and skyscraping trees. Bring hats, water, and good shoes, especially during hot and humid days, to endure all the climbing. Though Angkor Wat is the most well known and publish temple in Siem Reap, I'll admit that a few others were my favorite. Angkor Wat is great, but keep in mind that your ticket gets you past checkpoints all around north of Angkor Wat also. Don't miss out on at least a dozen more than are even better than Angkor Wat, at least in my opinion. I added a few photos, though many other reviewers have included a nice collection of pictures on Google maps reviews. Check them all out, surely you'll be amazed to visit this site. 😎🙏🏻

Fascinating! People who are afraid of heights are not recommended to climb up. In this place, you need to cover your shoulder and wear the appropriate attire before entering the temple. Wear a scarf without a motif of animals is not allowed. - better to have a plain scarf instead.
