The building dates from 1784, the year it was definitely completed. The structure is made of a technique known as "pestle mud", its walls are extremely wide, and the chapel has the Portuguese colonial style. Because it is an 18th century building, it was erected through the contribution of the labor force of enslaved people. It has been listed by IPHAN since 1938, and Paraná's artistic heritage since 1972, and is the oldest architectural landmark in downtown Lapa. If you go to Lapa, your visitation is a MUST!
