One of Santa Catarina's most popular tourist destinations, Itapema hugs the shore in an attractive sandy bay, framed by rocky outcrops and hills. A resort town first and foremost, the main attractions in Itapema are linked to the seaside economy, with its long sandy beaches heavily developed with bars, restaurants, and gift shops.
