Museu Oscar Niemeyer focuses on modern visual arts, architecture, and design. You may also hear people refer to the museum as Museu do Olho or Museum of the Eye due to the ocular shape of the building's design. You'll visualize the postmodern architecture of Oscar Niemeyer through bold geometric forms, prominent sculptural curves that contrast with rectangular elements, winding pedestrian ramps, vast areas of white concrete, vivid murals, and contemporary paintings. The complex consists of two buildings connected by a tunnel that you can walk through. by manicured gardens surround both structures that are situated on 144,000 m2 (472,440 sq ft) of woodland. The exhibition items are extremely beautifully set in scene. The exhibition is generally very well curated and diverse exhibitions, both modern and traditional, are on display. During my visit quite some rooms and the eye were closed foe the setting up of new exhibitions (08.04.22). Entrance costs 30. Drinks and bottles are not allowed inside, but there are free lockers available. Good coffee in the museum café.

A great indoor space for a miles-long stroll on a bad weather day. Exhibitions (that try hard to be interesting) take place mostly in the undescriptive, adjacent "square" annex, so what is actually worth seeing is 85% outside. Store offers an array of objects using the museum logo (=outline). Still by far tourist attraction #1 in town.
