Marvel at the ornate exterior of Stadhuis, whose Gothic facade is guarded by gilded knights. The building has withstood the test of time and is hailed as a symbol of the city. A small fee gets you access to the hall and the antechamber. These are the only rooms opened to the public, but the architecture and the artwork hanging on the walls is worth the short visit. Pick up an information card at the entrance to guide you through the paintings and the people pictured in them. With our world travel planner, Bruges attractions like Stadhuis can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • This gorgeous stadhuis/city hall is just off the Grote Markt. It is also in Burg Square where you can find the Basilica of the Precious Blood. This square is where the former fortified castle stood...

  • It was nice to see and to be in. The architecture for me was the highlight and the fact that it is well preserved and still in use at the time of my visit was nice.

  • An historic place in the centre of Bruges where public is allowed to roam freely in the main entrance hall but one has to pay to visit the museum. The interior is dull looking and dark coloured walls and floor with less aesthetic appeal.
  • Gotic hall, nicely decorated! All over it has pictures through which history is told. It took them 9 years to agree which picture should be drawn! You read the story by your self from a plastic paper.Entrance 7 euro for this hall and the court house.
