Salvador Dali Exhibition
Indulge your love for Dali in Belgium with the collection of drawings, watercolors, and sculptures at Salvador Dali Exhibition. Some of the artwork recalls Dali's iconic images of the long-legged elephants and his immortal wife, Gala. The layout of the gallery enhances the artist's work by adding lighting and color, paying tribute to his vibrant imagination and adding an element of playfulness to your self-guided tour. The museum only displays a portion of the sizeable permanent collection, so contact the museum in advance if you're interested in something in particular, such as the rarely exhibited collection of Dali's commercial and advertising work. Combine your ticket with the nearby Warhol and Picasso exhibits for a discount on all three admission prices. You can also upgrade your ticket to include a glass of cava and a Belgian praline, both favorite treats of Salvador Dali. I consider myself lucky that in my Brugge visit, Salvador Dali expo was present. I didn't know what to expect, but it was a very well-put and organized exhibition, with some of the painter's masterpieces. The audio guide, as well as the explanatory texts, next to the pieces, helped understanding better the nuance of them. I left this expo mesmerized by the artist's unique style and all that I felt while admiring his art...

As Dali is one of my biggest inspirations and one of my favourite artists, I felt that the beauty of his art pieces wasn’t shown the way it should have. The collection was nice, and I liked how the paintings and statues were sorted in categories. You could find the Dante inspired paintings together the same way you could find a collection of la Fontaine inspired paintings and drawings. But the way the gallery was set, was a little bit like somebody was in a hurry. There were two little raised spaces, but like another reviewer stated, they felt a bit left out (like many other pieces of his collection). The creaking of the wooden floors made it that you couldn’t always hear the audio that were made available for the visitors. (There were signs to keep it quiet) The paintings for sale are at the entrance, but they’re all put together like some little souvenirs. The lady who sold the tickets was very sweet, the collection was nice but the setting of the entire gallery was disappointing. I would still recommend it to somebody who loves Dali’s work. I just hope that maybe in the future they give him a proper gallery.
