Create an itinerary including Eisriesenwelt
Explore an extensive network of frozen tunnels and caverns at Eisriesenwelt, the largest of their kind in the world. Stop by the formation and join a guided tour through the ice. You'll find as you venture into the depths that the drafts of air that cycle through the caves are the lifeblood of the entire freezing process, along with melting water that seeps underground. You'll see open spaces, imposing stalagmites, and dangling stalactites, including the centerpiece of the caves--a 23 m (75 ft) tall behemoth rising from the floor. The caves are very cold year-round, so dress warmly. Put Eisriesenwelt and other Werfen attractions into our Werfen trip planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Highly recommended. A true wonder of nature. Just dress warmly, don't look up too much info beforehand and get ready to be amazed.
  • Amazing ice cave to visit however if you really want to enjoy the tour, you must bring: - Winter coat, warm socks and a pair of winter gloves, hiking boots You will stay about 1hr inside the cave and it is freezing cold as expected. If you are around Salzburg or Munich, you should add this cave tour your itinerary.
