Located on the grounds of the majestic Schonbrunn Palace, Schönbrunn Zoo mixes rich history and the animal kingdom. Wander through this World Heritage Site for sightings of giant pandas, koalas, orangutans, tigers, penguins, and more. Visit the Amazon rainforest, or catch a polar bear feeding in the polarium. The zoo, the oldest in the world, opened in 1752 as a menagerie. You'll find an interesting architectural mix here, with original buildings from the Baroque era mingling with modern zoo architecture. The zoo offers several themed tours, as well as the chance to customize a guided tour according to your personal interest, if you book in advance. panda bears was the absolute highlight, one eating bamboo and the other was so close to the glass we felt we could cuddle him. The rest of the zoo is very well kept, clean and loads of unusual...

One of the best zoos we have visited in European cities. The garden is enormous, with huge variety of animals and educational information about them. The place is perfect not just for kids, but also for their parents. There are plenty of options for resting, observing and enjoying the views. Plenty of shadows for a sunny day. Various restaurants and options to buy food. On weekends and during lunch time it might be difficult to get a table for lunch and you might need to wait a while. Will definitely visit the place when in Vienna.

I don't like zoos much, but would definitely say that this one is the best I have ever been to. It's location in the huge park makes it very pleasant to walk. Animals have very big space and look like those who aren't taken care about. Would highly recommend visiting this place with your kids or family
