Create an itinerary including Liechtensteinklamm
Explore the heart of a mountain region at Liechtensteinklamm, a deep ravine nestled in the Austrian Alps. Named in honor of the Prince of Liechtenstein, who spurred the creation of the walkways at the site, the ravine is constantly deepened by the powerful waterfalls that pound the rock. Visit the site and wend your way back into the gorge via the 1 km (0.6 mi) walkway, which you'll also use to return to the entrance. You'll find yourself surrounded by imposing stone walls, some of which rise to a height of 300 m (984 ft) around you, barely leaving room for the footpath and frothing river below. At the end, you'll be rewarded with an up-close view of a crashing cascade. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, as the constant spray can make the paths slippery. Make Liechtensteinklamm part of your personalized St Johann im Pongau itinerary using our St Johann im Pongau trip planner.

  • Well worth the euros and time to journey down to the waterfall. Beautiful scenery and well maintained trail.

  • Very nice place. Well organized parking and entrance. Beautiful path till the water fall. Good walking kids. We recommend it for summer days. It’s cold so thin coat is recommended.

  • A very unique and breathtaking experience. Must visit. We visited with our two kids and had a blast. Sure the walk and climb might be a bit challenging, but the views and experience is well worth it. Highly recommend
  • It’s a beautiful place for a beautiful short hike, there’s €10 entry fee and at the end of the hike you get to see this beautiful waterfall with chilled breeze making it worth all the time efforts. The tracks are a bit slippery so wear shoes accordingly and also the cave parts are dark even though the mobile lights are sufficient I would still advise to carry a torch. Totally worthy and instagrammable.
