Mozart Residence (Mozart Wohnhaus)
See Mozart Residence (Mozart Wohnhaus), where the famous composer and his family lived from 1773 to 1787--and where Mozart wrote his numerous pieces. Destroyed by a bomb in World War II, the home was reconstructed and opened for visitors in 1996. Explore the exhibits, walk where Mozart walked, and see a piano and a violin that he played. Learn about different phases of his life and work through photos, audio guides, displays, and letters written to and by Mozart. You'll also see the rooms of his father and sister, along with some personal effects. Put Mozart Residence (Mozart Wohnhaus) and other Salzburg attractions into our Salzburg trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

Prefered the birthplace museum a few streets away. This one is easily done in 30 minutes tops. Minimal artifacts. Had it not been for my Salzburg Card we would have likely skipped it.

Very well managed museum. I liked the fact that the curators did not overwhelm us with too much information and kept it an adequately manageable experience for music lovers and practitioners alike. To be able to see the viola and the piano that the great maestro played was an experience of a lifetime!

It is always nice to walk in the footsteps of giants like the Mozart family. The place provided a very good audio book that walks you through the house and there is alot of history to be found there. Overall its a nice place to visit once in your life, even though it feels kinda empty and would have been nicer if it had more pieces that made it feel like a home and shows how they lived their life, especially for the price.
