Create an itinerary including Sigmund-Thun-Klamm
Explore the gorge that slices the Kaprun Valley in half at Sigmund-Thun-Klamm, created by a glacier over 14,000 years ago. The gorge measures 32 m (105 ft) at its deepest, and runs 320 m (1,050 ft) long, marked with rocky riverbanks, whirlpools, and holes. Explore the length of the gorge by a wooden walkway that hugs its side. As you ascend, take in the beauty of the waterfalls that rush below. At the top you'll find a picturesque lake with a reflection of the mountains in the distance. The walkway has stairs in many sections, requiring some basic physical skills, yet it is suitable for children; wear comfortable shoes with good traction. Note that the ascent and descent are two separate paths. Facilities are located at the halfway point. • One of the most beautiful places in the area. Exploding forces of nature and water at their best. All of the kids did the climb almost completely independently. Babies are only in a carrier and not in a stroller. The lake in the end is a great place to rest after the long hike.
  • A beautiful promenade above the river and waterfalls, everyone who visits Kaprun and its surroundings should see this wonderful beauty of nature and the people who made this promenade something wonderful.
