Landeszeughaus hosts the world's largest historical armory with over 30,000 pieces on display. Admire rows and rows of weapons, tools, and complete suits of armor used for both battles and parades. The armory was originally built to equip soldiers in defense against the Ottoman Empire in the 1600s, and Styria has carefully preserved the collection ever since. During World War II, authorities hid the equipment in remote castles and successfully avoided damage. Today, you can view the pieces in the original building. If you visit in wintertime, be sure to schedule a guided tour in advance. Add Landeszeughaus to your Graz travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Graz trip itinerary site.

  • Great collection of armor and weapons. There are unique pieces here that you will not see any place else. Make sure you do the guided tour. There are no signs providing details on the exhibits. Without someone to provide insights and information. You are missing out on 90% of the visit.
  • Very interesting. A lot of items, different models. Found a lot from free audio guide. Don't forget your headset.
