  • Rod was a great guide for the ship tour, he was passionate about the ship and the connection it had with Whyalla. It was good to see how life was on board the WW2 vessel. The tours run at 11:30 am and 01:30pm from the info centre and run for 45- 60 minutes, you may need to book ahead as there was only 10 spots available with people waiting. You can visit the maritime museum afterwards with well maintained grounds.
  • I visited the museum as part of entrance to the former HMAS Whyalla ship tour. Very worthwhile to see the short video of the retrieval and rehoming of the ship on site. The rest of the museum is interesting and informative if you like that type of thing. I do! There were multiple themed rooms. I added a pic of a typical display, however there was much more including model ships, 'artifacts', and other historical information and stories.
