Create an itinerary including Sydney Fish Market
The world's third largest seafood market, Sydney Fish Market incorporates a working fishing port, a wholesale fish market, a fresh seafood retail market, a sushi bar, gift shop, a fruit and vegetable market, a beverage outlet, indoor seating, and an outdoor promenade. There's so much to do and see here that most tourists opt to join an official tour. Contact the market's management ahead of time to organize a behind-the-scenes tour of the popular wholesale seafood auction. You can also drop by on a rainy day for a meal of fresh sushi and sashimi, for which the market is renowned across Australia. Keep in mind that the sushi bar gets extremely busy during lunchtime, so it's best to visit earlier in the morning to avoid crowds and take advantage of indoor seating. • Lunch at the Boat Shed at the Fish Markets. The food quality was great however there was a mix up in the kitchen and it took a follow up after a fair wait to get my partners meal. They did a good...

  • Been going every weekend to the sydney fish markets for the last 15 years. It is now pricier than our local seafood retailers with big price increases over the last 6 months. Parking just doubled...

  • A bit overrated but still a good place to bring visiting tourists. Once you get over the smell, the fish markets make for an interesting visit. A lot smaller than you may expect if you have been to other seafood markets globally. Some decent deals around on fresh seafood. Ridiculously busy around Good Friday and Christmas of course but can be exciting.
  • If you are after fresh seafood this is the place! The amount of people who come here is crazy, such a busy place. There is also a bakery, and a few other small boutique shops/groceries. I came to have a look and dine in at one of the eateries here. Pure fresh seafood and Deliciousness! Lots of options to choose from! Will definitely be back again :)
