Create an itinerary including Seal Bay Conservation Park
Home to the third largest sea lion colony in Australia, Seal Bay Conservation Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations on Kangaroo Island, offering a rare nature-based experience with no enclosures or cages confining the animals. Experienced guides can take you into the heart of the sea lion colony, where you can learn how these endangered creatures fish, surf, rest, interact with their pups, and defend their territory. To protect the precarious colony, visitors can visit the beach, where the sea lions rest with their young, as part of a guided tour only. You can take unguided walks along the park's boardwalk at any time. To visit Seal Bay Conservation Park and other attractions in Kangaroo Island, use our Kangaroo Island trip tool.

  • We went here with our group and we’re able to walk down on to the beach and get fairly close to the Sea lions. Got some great photos.

  • Such a special experience that is worth the travel. Mesmerising, I could have stayed all day. It is suitable for all ages. The guides and staff are so knowledgeable &passionate. the seals are precious. There is good information along the walk if you can’t afford the guide but if you can afford a guide is it so educational and informative.
  • Lazy seals but they deserve the rest!
