Established in 1993, the garden was designed to bring attention to arid-zone ecosystem conservation. Visit the site’s interpretive center, which introduces visitors to important environmental concepts through a number of educational and entertaining displays. Also included is a well-known eremophila garden, noted for a huge collection of over 155 varieties of colorful flowers. The garden shelters large populations of reptiles, mammals, and insects, and is home to over 100 species of birds. Grab your camera and explore one of many walking trails, which twist through the garden for more than 12 kilometers (7.5 mi).   • Great place to visit if in Port Augusta. Free entry to a unique garden full of all Australian natives classified by the areas they grow. Lovely walk trails and fantastic views of the ranges from the the lookout. Great cafe. Well worth the visit.
