  • Altina Wildlife Park is definitely worth a visit! This is without a doubt the closest and most personal zoo tour I think you'd be able to get! For about $140 for two adults and two children we had a horse drawn tour of the park. We arrived at 8.45am for the 9am tour and spent half an hour in the park's "cuddly zoo" where we saw monkeys, meercats, wallabies, red pandas etc before our cart departed. You also get to walk through their taxidermy museum which is wonderful. Jordan was our guide and Lawson our trusty steed. The horse tour walks through the park with the guide discussing the animals and another keeper offers the animals a snack if they come over and see the visitors. They have trained the animals to let them check them over when they do this which is very impressive and makes the tour even more personal! They have lions, hyenas, zebra, African wild dogs, rhinos which unfortunately weren't out, camels, caybara, heaps of deer, bison and much more. The horse cart is more expensive than the motorised cart but likely more personal without as many people. If youre visiting in Summer the 9am timeslot is advisable because of the heat. Sit on the left if you'd like to be in the shade. Bookings as essential as you cannot wander the park. Highly recommended! Great for kids. Thanks for having us!!
