Browse through a lifetime of artwork at Parajanov Museum, documenting the life and work of one of the most renowned directors of 20th-century Soviet cinema. With over 600 items--250 of which are by Parajanov--the two-story museum features installations, assemblages, collages, drawings, and film sketches, including some pioneering 3D work and librettos produced during his prison term. Opened posthumously in 1991, the museum perches on the cliff of Hrazdan Gorge overlooking the city. Enjoy the panoramic view of Yerevan and ponder a bygone era of the Cold War in art. • My favorite museum in Yerevan. Great collection of Parajanov’s art. Beautiful building with charming backyard. Also it is a good idea to visit the museum with children - my 2 y.o daughter was very interested
  • Purchased tickets apparently only 40 minutes before closing time, while not being warned about it. So, at 5.30 pm the lights were manually shut down by the same man, who sold the tickets to our group of four people. I begged him to give me 5 more minutes, as I was taking the pictures of the hats and needed the lighting for this. Besides I was the only one in our group who came to Yerevan from the other side of the world. I told him all of this, yet the man was merciless. I believe people working in the museum of the great Parajanov could be more passionate about their work.
