Climb 680 steps through lush vegetation into a large grotto at Sung Sot Cave, a part of Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site. Filled with unusual rock formations highlighted by colored lights, the cave features naturally carved limestone in intricately ornate shapes covering its long walls. Stalactites and stalagmites under spotlights create a dramatic effect for spectators in this popular tourist spot. You can see limestone in the shape of a Buddha or a tortoise, with the most famous formation in the shape of a phallic rock under pink spotlights, believed to contribute to fertility. • You have to go early in the morning to avoid the world (ideally around 7:30). This cave is very well named "Grotte of surprise" because each cavity (there are 3) is even larger and more beautiful than the previous one. Attention it is hot and heavy (just the opposite of the French caves).

  • Since the cave sits on the ground rather than underground, the temperature inside is not low. The entrance to the hotel is small and slippery due to the dry ness. The view from the cave is amazing.
