Brink of the Lower Falls Trail, Yellowstone National Park

#14 of 22 in Trails in Yellowstone National Park
Hiking Trail · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Zigzag down the steep Brink of the Lower Falls Trail for an up-close view of the mighty river thunderously plunging into the colorful rock canyon. Being the first stop on the one-way North Rim Road, the 1.3 km (0.8 mi) trail remains very popular and often quite crowded. An observation platform perched at the top of the Lower Falls affords great photo opportunities of the waterfall and down the river. Watch your step and expect a slow hike down through, since the trail has steep drop-offs. Keep an eye open for birds and other wildlife along the way.
