Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park is a state park along the shores of Stonewall Jackson Lake, an impoundment on the West Fork River in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The lake is a project of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The original park was completed in 1990 and consisted of a campground, marina, multi-purpose building, and park offices. The revenues generated from park activities were not able to support the debt from construction activities. Senator Robert C. Byrd developed a legislation that meant the State would not have to pay the Corps the $28 million debt if improvements to the State Park exceeded $28 million. With our custom trip planner, Roanoke attractions like Stonewall Resort can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.
The state chose to venture with the private firm, McCabe-Henley Properties of Charleston. McCabe-Henley, through a bond-issuing agency, sold $44 million in bonds to private markets and investors. This provided a sum of $54 million ($10 million from the State and $44 million from investors), which has been used to build the resort. McCabe-Henley selected management company Benchmark Hospitality International to manage the State Park and Resort. For marketing purposes, the resort is referred to as Stonewall Resort and Stonewall Resort State Park despite the legal name of the park still being Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park.
The resort is located in Lewis County, West Virginia, about 10 miles (16 km) south of Weston and about three miles (5 km) off the Roanoke Exit (Exit 91) of Interstate 79.

Went there last year had a blast. Pool was very hot and AWSOME to swim outdoors. We went this year have to say a little different. The pool was not so hot just warm. My kids were cold. There... more »
We just stopped by to check it out with some friends. What a neat place this is and it was decorated for Christmas. Would like to come back and stay a few nights or longer. more »
Great room and excellent food. Updated style with rustic but upscale finishes. Conference facilities are comfortable and adequately equipped. Nice amenities and offered activities. Enjoyed the fire pit, indoor/outdoor pool, and both the indoor and the outdoor hot tubs. Lots of outdoor activities offered, including walking trail, SUPs, boat cruises, and more. Helpful front desk staff and dining room staff. Housekeeping services were good, but my one encounter with a housekeeper wasn't great. I tried to go to the gift shop twice but it was closed both times, once in the morning and once around 1:30pm. Overall great experiences at this place each time I've stayed!
The resort is gorgeous. There were not many people, which was very nice and made it even more peaceful. Going out on the lake is very fun, peaceful, and an all around amazing time. The pool is great, the rooms are nice, and the staff is wonderful! However, there were not a lot of options for food and the service was not the best.
