  • Gorge Trail, visitor center and bathrooms closed. Bummer! Still a cool view from the Indian Trail. Very few people-that was a major perk. No outside sounds-just birds and water.  more »
  • Who would think that a gem of park is in this area. Get ready to stop many times to take pictures as we did because it's truly different than other gorges we've been too.  more »

  • Great small state park to hike/walk along. Starting from the southern entrance, you'll have a steady incline for the first mile in the gorge and will hike up ~5 floors worth of steps to come out at the northern entrance. I wouldn't say this is strenuous if you are in shape and easy enough for older people to finish so it's a pretty great group trail. When we got to the northern entrance, there was no shuttle for those looking to take a ride back. I'd recommend taking either the Southern Rim Trail or the Indian Trail back if you walked up through the gorge. It was a nice change of scenery so you don't need to walk back through the same trail.
  • Wow, what a tremendous experience. The whole park is gorgeous with falls and caverns. So much to see out the outset of the Gorge Trail. It's a 75 minute walk along the Gorge Trail which is well paved (one way). Expect crowds! A marvelous experience. If you walk from the main entrance to the upper entrance, there's a shuttle that will take you back for $5 that comes every 20-30 minutes.
