The rugged coastline of Hawaii's oldest inhabited island, Na Pali Coast State Park, can only be reached by hiking, kayaking, or paddleboarding. If you're not feeling that adventurous, consider taking a guided boat tour or helicopter ride around the coast. However, this natural beauty is worth the hike (or kayak ride). The cliffs, or pali, jut straight out of the water and are marked with small, narrow valleys and caves formed by strong seawater. Camping on the beach overnight is also a popular option here; just remember that you need to pay for a permit to do so. Put Na Pali Coast State Park on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Wainiha trip maker.

One of the best places and experiences I’ve EVER had. Did 17 miles in open ocean (by kayak) and although the company I hired wasn’t the best, the adventure was terrific. It was very tough and even dangerous at times but the views are superb! Oh, let me not forget the dolphins... they came really close, jumping all over our kayaks. Awesome!

I'm glad I'm reading all reviews AFTER my first-time hike to the falls. I workout 5-6x a week, lift weights, etc. and my quads and calf muscles are super sore right now (2 days later). The soreness has been completely worth it though. One of the most beautiful hikes I've ever been on. Bring lots and lots of water and food. We bought sandwiches at Foodland, fruit and were fine. It poured on us though, so all rocks were super slippery. I would never bring small children on here. The trail is too narrow and dangerous in many parts. When you go, make sure to get a permit to park in the lot. We went on a Friday and it was less crowded. Would I do it again? Maybe just the first half to the beach and back.
