The Wild Center is located in the Adirondacks in northern New York. The Adirondacks are unique in the world. Surrounded by people, they house great expanses of nature interspersed with small towns and communities. They can be an example for a future where man and the rest of the natural world find better ways to coexist.

The Wild Center is dedicated to understanding this rare place, is committed to helping people explore not a small collection, but one that lives and breathes across the entire expanse of the Adirondacks. The Wild Center is science-based, and its experiences, exhibits and programs are designed to open new ways to look into the latest discoveries made by natural scientists.

  It's highly recommended when you travel by Lake Placid. Recommend the Wild walk, which opens only in 2019. Hiking trails on bridges are elevated, allowing high observation, above the treetops with the beautiful colour casting. Recommended for the Mbarians and children. View, study and experiences.

  My wife and I visited while passing through upstate NY since we had never been before. It cost us $22/each so was not cheap but we did think it was very informative and gave us more of an appreciation...  more »

  This was a great experience for our family of 7. The center itself was large, well laid out, and full of beautiful well kept exhibits and useful information. The trails were easy to traverse and fun for everyone. It's worth noting that the whole wild walk experience is stroller accessible. The tree top trails were a hit with the kids. The staff was kind and helpful.

  Great fun. Spent the entire day and we are going to go back tomorrow for another walk. Museum is very hands on and I loved how accessible it was for little kids, and how they combine fun and learning. Love the trails and wild walk, felt like an adventure. Definitely something we will come back to in future years too.
