Gonzaga University (also known as Gonzaga or GU) is a private Roman Catholic university in Spokane, Washington. It is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Founded in 1887 by Joseph Cataldo, an Italian-born priest and missionary with the Society of Jesus, the university is named for the young Jesuit saint Aloysius Gonzaga. The campus houses 105 buildings on 152 acres (62 ha) of grassland alongside the Spokane River, in a residential setting one-half-mile (800 m) from downtown Spokane.

  • Although Gonzaga has nearly doubled in size over the past 25 years, it has retained its core values and community feel. The campus is immaculate and ever expanding. The faculty is tremendous. Still a great place to get a quality education. Undergrad programs are some of the best in the region. The Law School is highly respected. GU is so much more than just a basketball team.
  • I really liked the school (when we did a visit). Seems like a place that students can focus without a lot of outside distraction. Sad to hear how hard it is to get to a basketball game. And seems to be little to no support for club sports (namely the hockey team).
