Bump Wine Cellars, Sonoma

Winemaker Geordie Carr strives to capture a true representation of varietal character and a sense of place. Bump Wine Cellars is proud to harvest its grapes from sustainably farmed vineyards, located throughout Sonoma County.

Mieko and Geordie Carr welcome you to join them at their tasting

room and gallery just off the square in downtown Sonoma. We are

located at 521-A Broadway, in an old brick building (originally an

Odd Fellows Hall) that we have transformed into a loft-style wine

lounge and gallery. You'll find the space a relaxing environment to

enjoy Bump's current releases and vintage wines.

WHY THE NAME BUMP? Bump is Geordie’s mother’s maiden name. It

was originally Bumpass, derived from the French name Bonpasse,

meaning “Good Journey”. Of course, it is also a fun word, which is

easy to remember (we hope!)

  • We live here and we love Bump wines. The owners are amazing and the wine is spectacular. Great tasting experience.  more »
  • If you are looking for a small, local, family run winery you then must visit Bump! They grow the grapes, crush, age the wine and then pour their wine in the tasting room. A great family business...  more »
  • We stopped by Bump this afternoon for a wine tasting and were so happy we found this place! The location is family run, and you get an inviting feeling the moment you come in. Geordie (owner) walked us through the entire tasting which we enjoyed so much we walked out with two bottles. I always look for wineries where you have a chance to chat with someone passionate about their product. Bump was definitely that type of winery, and I suggest you stop by next time you are in Sonoma!
  • Really delicious wine, and the owner was so nice. He had a very calm and relaxed personality matching the quaint atmosphere that made you want to stay all day. Only had space in my suitcase for a couple bottles, but now that I'm home enjoying one, I should have bought a whole case, or 2!
