The Nordic Museum (Swedish: Nordiska museet) is a museum located on Djurgården, an island in central Stockholm, Sweden, dedicated to the cultural history and ethnography of Sweden from the early modern period (in Swedish history, it is said to begin in 1520) to the contemporary period. The museum was founded in the late 19th century by Artur Hazelius, who also founded the open-air museum Skansen. For long part of the museum, the institutions were made independent of each other in 1963.

  • Just went to the museum for a quick bite. The smorgasbord was great. Salmon smoked perfectly. The best pickled egg was a great surprise. I will definitely be going back the Freya Cafe.
  • Great place with adequate and reasonably priced parking ($2/hr). Veterans get a buy-one-get-one-free admission ticket discount, which isn't listed online for some reason. I wanted to see more historical artifacts on exhibit, but this time that room was showing a photographer's work. Still worth the time and money.
