Bustling Temple Square is home to a number of tourist attractions, including a large complex owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Family History Library, the largest genealogical library in the world, is a favorite stop. Here, you can delve into your ancestors' past. If you are not a Mormon, you cannot enter the Salt Lake Temple that dominates the square, but you still can explore the grounds and admire the exterior of this striking, 19th-century structure. Pop into the visitor center to see a diorama of the inside of the temple. Learn more about Mormonism at the Church History Museum, home to a large collection of Latter-day Saint artifacts and artwork. Approach a missionary or volunteer docent for a free tour of the square. I am not LDS, but wanted to see the beautiful Temple Square while visiting SLC. It did not disappoint! Lovely, green area with views of the Temple. The Bee Hive house and more more »
There is such an amazing spirit of peace and calmness here. This is beautiful. Make sure to go into the visitor center and watch some of the films. Go into the Tabernacle and literally hear a pin drop from 100 yards away. Learn the fascinating history of the early saints and find out who your ancestors are with the family history center. There is so much to do and see here and even more importantly there is so much to feel here.
Very, Very beautiful place to visit. There’s always something and somewhere to look at. The people are very kind and generous to take their time for their visitors. The scenery is vibrant and breathtaking. And the organ recitals are also very fun to listen to. 5 star all the way!
