Children's Museum of Richmond Reviews
While we had no children with us for this visit, it offered an amazing array of things to do and entertain the child inside us. We were fortunate to have had an impromptu behind the doors tour by one ... more »
We went to a baseball game around the corner from here. It was very hot out and my 3yr old was overheating. He wanted to play so we found this place online. It was a great find! Price was great, only ... more »
This not a museum at all. It's way overpriced propaganda dressed up as a play place calling itself a museum. TLDR: Save your money and go next door to the Science Museum instead. OK that's a little bit harsh, but let's be honest. This place is seriously completely funded by sponsors and everything is just an advertisement. To be clear there is nothing "museum" about this place at all...There is nearly zero learning to be had here. Don't get me wrong I'm sure it's fun for some kids, but it's not really geared toward education (interactive or otherwise) and is not really inclusive of the family as a whole unit. If your parent who likes mental stimulation get ready to be bored out of your mind at this place! I highly highly recommend you go next door to the Science Museum instead. That place is actually a museum. And it has both static and interactive elements that are suitable for people of all ages. The entire place is fun and involving and has plenty for people who want to read or look or listen or play or touch. Essentially, it's an entirely opposite experience to the Children's Museum.
A must visit place with kids. My kid is 3 and she loves this place. You can easily spend 3 hours. Carousel ride is extra $2 and usual schedule is to run at the top of each hour. On certain days entry fee is only a dollar. Check their Facebook page.
