Housed in a former Masonic Temple, Portland Art Museum holds a permanent collection of more than 42,000 works of art from around the world. This museum was founded in 1892 with the goal of creating a first-class art museum accessible to all of the community. Now, the museum continues to honor this mission, offering educational opportunities and special programs for children and adults. Explore the permanent collection, which includes European, Native American, Asian, American, and modern and contemporary art, as well as photography and graphic arts. After admiring the artwork, head to the on-site coffee shop to refuel or enjoy the scenery in the outdoor sculpture garden. Check the website for information about upcoming exhibits and events, such as artist talks, special tours, and lectures. This place is BIG. First of all. Show up early if you're planning on seeing all the art. There are some art installations that are not in my interest but majority was really interesting to see. From modern weird postings to ancient artifacts. Cool place definitely a great visit
