  • The truth is, I was just because of the beautiful pictures. And yes, the synagogue is beautiful... But the museum as such is a dany. We were asked if we wanted to wait for the guided tour that lasted a little over an hour and because of the size we found it excessive. If you walk in time to spare, do not miss the opportunity to go to see the architectural beauty but if you walk in the right time, I would dedicate the same to do other things, it is not a must in any case.

  • A hidden gem in the Lower East Side surrounded by Chinese shops and right next to a Buddhist temple. Beautiful architecture with tons of symbolism. The museum is very small but provides a good background of how the Jewish community established and grew in NY. Since it is not busy, you can take your time reading all the information and sitting and reflecting. The piece de resistance is the temple itself. It is breathtaking!! There are no words to explain how majestic and peaceful it is. As you enter, WOW! The gorgeous stained window , the chandeliers, and the wood surrounding the nave are incredible. One has to sit to take in all the beauty in this temple. The tour guides are so knowledgeable and funny!
  • This is a beautiful place. The building is very well kept and the staff is very nice. When we visited the museum, there was a concert taking place. We were allowed in and could enjoy the end of the concert for free. Because of the beautiful lightning and colored windows, there is a wonderful atmosphere over there. Hard to imagine you’re in the heart of Manhattan when you are inside. Definitely worth a visit, whether you are religious or not.
