  • Upon first glance of the St. Louis Cathedral, nestled within Jackson Square, it is like looking at a painting. The high, towering spires and iconic architecture silhouette the blue sky. It is like an image of old-world France right in the middle of busy downtown New Orleans. Unfortunately, on the weekend we were there, the French Quarter festival was going on. And while it was a great time, the city and especially Jackson Square were crowded beyond comprehension. Once we finally navigated our way through the masses, we came to the cathedral, which itself was a quiet, peaceful sanctuary among the chaos. I was in awe of the high vaulted ceilings and opulent interior. The Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis King of France is the oldest Catholic cathedral in continual use in the United States. It's a pretty amazing place.
  • Beautiful temple. The stain glass windows are amazing. The art on the ceilings is equally beautiful. There is no doubt it is a place worth visiting in New Orleans. Once there, offer up a prayer for our beloved country.
