Trip Planner: USA / South Carolina / Coastal South Carolina / Myrtle Beach / Myrtle Beach State Park
Pitch a tent and swim, go fishing, or hike at Myrtle Beach State Park. The beach is wide and sandy, and the absence of hotels keeps the area quiet compared to typical beach resorts. Plan a picnic, or ride horses. Children can join nature programs and visit the education center that features displays, aquariums, and reptiles. A campsite with 350 spots for tents and RVs is nestled within a maritime forest; six cabins are available for rent. Remember that there are no lifeguards at the beach. We went at the end of October in our Rv. It’s beautiful and close to the beach. However, the loudest campground that I have ever been too. I will NEVER return here! There was music thumping from... more »
Great place to go for a "Beach Day"! It helps to get an annual pass as the charge is $5 per adult to enter the State Park. Easy parking, very short walk to the beach. Bathrooms , changing rooms, picnic tables in pavilions and Showers are easily accessible. Gift shop and Pier offer fishing supplies, souvenirs and ice cream. Nature trails are interesting and fun for kids and adults alike! Have Fun!
Safe. Parking included in 5.00 entry fee. Clean bathrooms. Easy access to beach. Would like to see more of those beach Matt's for us to walk on to be safe getting to beach location. For the disabled would like to improve on distance from parking area or have a folding cart for transporting those with special needs. Also have availability for wheelchair bound family member to be able to enjoy water waves. Sea life. Those big high carts that gave huge wheels.
