Inside, see sunlight colors through thirty-one stained glass windows reflected in crystal chandeliers and mirrored ceilings. Walk upon intricate marble floors and inlaid walls. Fifty-two varieties of marble and onyx imported from Europe, Asia and Africa.
In the Grand Hall hangs a giant French chandelier over 150 years old. Murals depicting ancient Indian classics are painted on the ceiling in the tradition of Renaissance masters. Walls and pillars are accented with semi-precious stones and pure gold. Under the thirty-ton main dome is a 4200 piece crystal ceiling.
Four royal peacock windows display more than 1,500 pieces of hand-crafted stained glass. Peacock and lotus motifs pervade the Palace, etched into numerous windows and carved into doors. Peacocks are traditionally associated with Royalty and Lord Krishna, who wears a peacock feather in His hair.

Palace of Gold reviews
Never expected this! So peaceful and everyone was so friendly. We were fortunate enough to experience the Blessing of the Deities. What an amazing ritual. more »
You know this place is not too far from where I live: maybe around an hour's ride. Surprised I didn't know about it before today, and coming here was an unexpected treat for me. Took a real long... more »
The palace of gold is a quite and peaceful place and best time to visit are summers and fall. It is HIGHLY recommended to follow the instructions on the website to reach this place. DO NOT follow the GPS which could take through a rough and patchy road especially soon after a downpour. The palace is itself located .25 miles away from the main temple and is the located on a higher elevated place. There is an entry fee and a guided tour if you wish to go inside the palace and see the gold work and Prabhu's personal belongings when he moved to the US. The outside of the palace is open to all and can go to the rose garden and the lotus pond in the back.
Beautiful place in a very verdant setting. Must have been an amazing religious place when it was initially built. Seems more like a tourist attraction now. Glad we went, though.
