Once Elvis Presley's private home--and the place he died in 1977 at age 42--Graceland now is a museum dedicated to the famous entertainer. The mansion sits on a large estate that opened to the public in 1982. Tour the 23-room house to see its opulent and often tacky decor, providing insight into the mind of one of the world's most beloved music icons. To suit his unusual tastes, Presley extensively modified the estate, most notably adding a wrought-iron gate shaped like a book of sheet music. Just a year before his death the singer converted one of the rooms into a recording studio, where he worked on his final two albums. Had the whole day Ultimate VIP tour. It was great, so much to see, and even though I am not an Elvis fan I was very impressed with the wealth of items and the whole story. Fab day. Especial thanks to ... more »
Had a great time here. One of the best things to do in Memphis. I was on a massive road trip and decided to travel through Memphis to check this historic site out. Even the entrance was fun. The gift shop was wonderful. Think I spent an hour in the gift shop alone. I do respect Elvis a lot, so I was pretty excited. The actual Museum was interesting... there's not a whole lot to it, but if you liked the man and the History then you do appreciate that you're experiencing a piece of great American History.
Amazing place 🙂 I'm sure every Elvis fan would love Graceland. Although I wouldn't consider myself a Huge fan, I do like Elvis..! But I really enjoyed seeing his history, his cars, his stage clothes (absolutely loads) everything. A great place to visit 👍🏻
