  • The observatory, located on the mountain of Akihito, has appeared in a number of films, and is well-known in the world. The main building is not very large, but the display of rich content, explain clearly, just in time for the 11th agency moon 50 years, the basement has a special exhibition. It's just that because there are so many people that they are very busy, and because there are very few parking places and very few places to collect, very sloppy.

  • One of the best spots to see the Hollywood Sign and the LA skyline. Take the chance to go inside the Observatory itself as well.  more »

  • Very Informative observatory, in right time of day, you could see good view of Moon. Even show in planetarium is must watch. Make sure to buy tickets as soon as you reached, it sold out fast. View of Entire LA city is breathtaking. Good place to photograph Hollywood sign. Many view from this place can be seen in many movies and TV series. Must go if you are in LA. FYI, there is quite big parking place on 10 min walking from observatory, if parking in observatory is full.
  • To make photos of the Hollywood sign is better in the first part of the day. Very interesting place, amazing view! We were in the evening-lA is amazing with lights! There was a girl, offering to watch the telescope and she told us so many interesting stories and facts about the sky!! It was the best lesson of geography and astronomy for all my life! Thank you! Also there is a place in the building where you can measure the temperature of your body in different places (nose, mouth, eyes) with infrared light.
